That gifset prompted me to pull up that diner scene and rewatch it with them and it’s just so…calm and tender at the same time. The casual way they can just sit and talk and the backstory we find out about him while also sitting with Charley as she ’s realizing the things they have in common is so nice.
And nice and calm is good for her considering her every other scene interaction is often filled with either her having to deal with something stressful or hurtful from farmers to family
I love how Charley smiles like she has a secret. Like she has something up her sleeve, knows something you don’t know, or she’s tucking away what she heard for later.
I don’t understand, how could I possibly understand this?!
