The press conference was poised and pointed and I’m glad she let her feelings be known, gave Naomi her credit and due, and still made it clear where she stood about the double standards the sport has and needs to change

2/2 they aren’t likely to get the storylines about her that aren’t linked to Kat. I actually saw people say that the writers should realize that Adena was more popular than Kat so they needed to write the show with that in mind. I love Adena and if she actually is gone permanently I’ll miss her, but I’m also aware that as part of the main trio this is ultimately Kat’s story and the focus should be on her. Whether or not Adena is or is not around.
This part and I feel the same. Like, I love her too but come on now…
1/2 People haven’t been happy that they didn’t really touch on her religion/race this last season the way they did the first season. The writers also didn’t help matters when they were asked about it and their response was basically that they touched on it in season 1 so it wasn’t necessary anymore. So I think that’s contributed to why people feel like Adena was whitewashed. I think it’s also a case of people not remembering that as great as she is, Adena is still a supporting character so
OK I get folks wanting it touched on again but that’s not what white washing means. Just because they don’t continuously talk about her religion or race does not take away who she is as a woc and what she believe re her faith, Words mean things y’all and you can’t go around throwing out these terms just because you don’t like a plot or want more of one unless something is narratively done to dismiss or erase one’s race or religion and that has not been done to or for Adena.
I would have liked some things too sure but they developed her in other areas re her relationship (whether one liked the how or not) and I think the writers do hope audiences assume some things about characters after being with them for awhile (like we don’t have to see her praying daily to know she does so even though seeing it again would have been great to see).
I know hiatus can be rough and fans get antsy and conclusion jump but some of this is outta pocket when we don’t even really know what’s what
I think the freakouts are because Nikohl clearly hasn’t been filming and when she was filming it was for reshoots of season 2. So that and the fact that the last interaction between Kadena was most likely a break up” people are assuming that either they decided to get rid of Adena to give Kat a new love interest or that Nikohl decided to leave the show because she was unhappy with her characterization. Nothing has been confirmed either way so I’m personally in the wait and see mode.
So just a lot of assuming and jumping to call one scene in the last episode ooc because they don’t like an assumed but not confirmed outcome. Okay.

as soon as that bitch started the commentary for the episode I knew she was the one getting hurt, but tbh it only looks like a scrap on her forehead lolol
For a min I was like “who’s the bitch??” But yeah when I saw that they’d done a “special” ADR from Janine (creator/showrunner) it just added on the worry i’d been feeling these past few episodes but hopefully it is just a graze and she’ll be in a coma then come out mostly fine.
I saw this message last night and got to thinking about it. We kinda already are set up for a slight jump when it returns with her too if you think about it because it opens with her and then goes back 2 days .

Sha what do you think about the new Insecure ep? Please could you explain me something? I see everyone going mad about it on twitter and i’m so confused because I don’t know what it means, the whole “Kappa brand on Daniel’s arm” and “Daniel is a Kappa” is that an American thing? What does it mean?
Didn’t watch but I can tell you what that means. His brand on his arm is something that some Kappa’s get while on the line (my brother has one) and that means he’s a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Inc Fraternity. It’s a Greek organization. You ever heard of folks joining fraternities(for men) or sororities (for women) when they go to college? That’s one of them. You may also see the term “Nupe” mention when other guys especially who are also members talk about this.
There’s talk out there about the different “type” of men who joins these orgs depending on which one. Some true some exaggerated but most times still with some truth mixed in lol
