Agreed, re: First Ladies and whiteness. I think it’s partially my love of Tig that has me so excited, but in fairness, most of her work is super white.
I mean I know she has a pretty loyal and excited fanbase but I personally am just tired of super white female queerness being the only thing we get made on tv etc over and over most often. I know the collective wlw fandom loves it cause they can self-insert in some way but I just cannot so it’s hard for me to get excited about this stuff now when I’m tired of it always being done with and for white women in mind only
I know it’s not completely your raison d’etre, but have you heard about the Netflix movie, First Ladies, set to star Jennifer Aniston, and Tig Notaro? Premise is Jennifer is the first lesbian president, with Tig as her wife.
I did just hear about it this morning and while that’s awesome and all I would be so much more excited if it wasn’t so white, real talk
Iol they really are acting like the original charmed just went off the air instead of 12 years ago. There is no way in hell that tag is all that active at this point.
And even if it is still getting old new sets this new stuff is not gonna make the old stuff suddenly disappear. Folks really out here doing the most today

The Maggie/Kelly hate is so frustrating and even though I’m still watching it’s one of the main reasons I don’t engage with fandom at this point. The fact that Sarah actually had to say something about how disgusting a good amount of them have been toward Kelly because her character is paired with one half of their ship just proves how bad they’ve gotten.
Yep and Jesse also said something on twitter before Sarah did as well. That fandom stay being a mess and it’s sad to see

Ships/Characters you’d like most for bday fiction?
My top shows are Queen Sugar (no Dilbert or Calvin thanks) and Black Lightning. The Flash (no harry of any variety or snow) or some throwbacks to shows I used to watch that y’all know of. My show/ship list is here
I was annoyed with how much time Riggs get over the other characters. I’m in love with Bailey, Scorsese, Cruz when he was on there, Maureen, and I love Trish and Roger’s dynamic. I saw a lot of parallels in them and Jeff x Lynn’s relationship. And I love Bailey’s dynamic with everyone. I know Riggs’s story is dealing with PTS, substance use, self-harm, and depression, which is why i can relate, but i just hate how much he’s still centered when the whole cast (and writer’s room) is diverse
2/2 what I’m trying to say is, I hope there’s a balanced slate in S3, and I’m glad the dude’s gone and is getting replaced. I hope they also get rid of or stop filming/including FL (she is not a brown mexican american woman). Maybe in S3, they can work on Riggs’ dynamic with Roger, and we can get more Bailey, Cahill, Scorsese, and Trish.
