I refuse to accept that kat edison is a bottom. She looked far too good being a top. She’s a top in training and will soon top adena el amin like she deserves to be topped. That’s all it is.
Say it again for the people in the back!! You dont go from bottomentary to Dr. Top action like that without it being preordained and ingrained in the body. Top in Training and probably ready to be let loose!
This SL being fleshed out with all its issues that come with newbie relationships like this is so nice to see and frustrating. I get wanting more of good times but less of the tribulations , some episodes I do lol, but this show was never that. I personally would like a little more expansion on this episode because it needs it and some more Adena perspective. In no way do I see Adena being strung along. She chose Kat over anything and realizes the importance of this experience is for Kat.(2/4)
A partner would be happy in a open giving relationship as they can see them grow. With Adena, people keep being surprised about her actions this season. I think it’s reflective in maturity and experiences which throws peoples HCs about her off. For Kat, as much as she goes into things headfirst, no pun intended, she is at least communicating what is going on. Kat is not the best gf right now but she wants to be. Them having these adult conversations makes this story line 1000 better (¾)
Am I yelling at my screen telling Kat to get herself together? Hell yes. Am I also happy to see her experiences, you’re damn right. We’re not supposed to place these characters as flawless people. We are open to discuss these flaws and critique them but to split the characters down to who was the worst is unnecessary. I think we are on a realistic angst train for the rest of this season and on.Opening up critiques with the writers has been important to this show. Can’t Be Bold without it (4/4)
@shaloved30 also, this whole thing with Kat is a problem on the level of a Black woman victimizing Adena. Like, yes, Adena is a WoC, but there is definitely a narrative specifically around Black women.
Why should we impose things on Adena? Maybe she hates it, but there’s nothing in the narrative to suggest that. I just really hate the way this is being discussed.
Adena, sweet, pure cinnamon roll and bully, taking advantage Kat. Ehhh.
Yep, that part too. Folks are really out here acting like Adena is a victim of Kat out here wildn’ out and not an active partner who encouraged her girlfriend to explore herself while still remaining with her and in support of her
Eh see that’s where I disagree with most people I guess. The way I see it, she wasn’t coming at it with selfish intent. I think she genuinely just wants to be able to share any and everything with Adena so they can understand each other and she has expressed this on different occasions. If anything, that’s such a healthy mindset to adopt when your goal is to have a long term relationship so kudos to her because this is a different Kat than we got in S1. Open and honest communication is going to be paramount if they’re going to last.
Now, I would’ve preferred that Kat brought this desire up when Adena first proposed the rule, but she wasn’t even really on board with the OR upon first suggestion so I doubt the talking rule was of primary concern to her. Also let’s not forget that the next time we see Kat and Adena on screen, Kat is honoring this no talking thing by lying (in spite of the fact that she sucks ass at lying/hiding her feelings around Adena) about the fact that she was planning this hook up! It’s ADENA who’s all “yeah I know we’re not supposed to talk about it but…” and she honestly opened up the door for some wiggle room by doing that so I don’t fault Kat for being like “yeah I know we’re not supposed to talk about it but..” later on.
As far as the notion that Kat was ‘throwing’ this hook up in Adena’s face goes? Kat wasn’t up there badgering her and forcing Adena to talk, she simply stated why she wanted to talk and left it up to Adena to decide whether or not that would be okay. Even asks one more time if Adena is sure she’s okay with talking. So if Adena says it’s okay, I don’t see why we’re blaming Kat for believing her and discussing it?? Maybe I could understand where people were coming from if Kat just came in that hoe on some word vomit type shit and didn’t give Adena the chance to consent to the discussion. But that is the literal opposite of what happened. And it’s not like Kat was up there gushing about how this girl tasted and describing how hot she looked and comparing the girl to Adena or anything that would’ve been unnecessarily cruel. She simply states “hey so I was dominant..it was different!” That was the extent of the mention of the outside experience. They then proceeded to laugh and talk about their own sex life afterwards so I fail to see where Adena was some poor woman forced to suffer through some detailed soliloquy about Kat’s sex on the side due to Kat’s selfish desire to brag about tying up and eating some cooch.
That being said, I desperately want Kat to get some gay friends. Someone she can discuss hot girls and vagina taste with lmao. Because Adena ain’t the one 😭
The Cast talking about Kat and Adena’s situation, Stephen just gives the best advice. //Insta-Live on Katie Stevens Instagram
I LOVE THIS!!! I love that the cast is allowed to have just honest discussions about such major storylines and I love that they care as much as fans. Like they were getting into it on their own, clearly, and Katie’s like ‘let’s share it with the fans’ but they’re invested in the writing. They have actual opinions on this stuff. They’re passionate about it. Smaller shows on smaller networks always win over major productions here. It’s not just a paycheck and the actors aren’t just coworkers. It’s not just a gig. I’ve been enjoying this about them from the beginning.
Something that I like, that is completely realistic, is they are showing us what happens when you meet the right one for you at the wrong time…
But are they going to get really real then and end the relationship with Adena meeting someone she connects with who is ready to be with her? The buzzword for all this seems to be realistic, but in real life those relationships end and people move on…Adena would be Kat’s “one that got away” unless Kat pulled it together really quickly. I like them as a couple, love them (was absolutely enthralled before this), but… after this, if not a clean break I think it’s reasonable to do an open relationship storyline where Kat sees Adena getting “too close” to one of her other partners and feels her slipping away, realizing her attraction to other women isn’t worth this and having to work to get Adena fully invested in committing to them again. Kat needs to be shown dealing with consequences for this, almost losing Adena because of her own actions again. Otherwise, it will feel completely imbalanced to me…like Adena’s just putting up with disappointment and hurt repeatedly while we call her mature for doing so.
I would like to see this resolved quickly as well and I do believe there will be something that will kick Kat in the ass to make her realize running around with other girls exploring isn’t anywhere near worth what she shares with Adena.
