We have more in common than you think, Nuri
Love Is
Those last 5 mins of tonight’s episode (S1, E9: The First Script) with Nuri reliving her childhood traumas and opening up about it to Yasir shook me… She reverted back to a child. That was too real.
Young Yasir: “We have more in common than you think, Nuri…"
*both silently crying*
Older Yasi: “Some people spend a lifetime running from their past trying to make sense of it. Looking for a silver lining. Some reason why that shit happened in the first place.”
Older Nuri: “Sometimes it’s your past that needs healing, so that you can launch into your destiny. Sometimes I ask for a sign to validate that I’m on the right path. That moment, God confirmed that we were meant for each other. Not because we shared a similar experience, but because we made space for each other that night to be honest and vulnerable. We can figure the rest out on another night.”
Son, this show!!!!
Angela? Eric?!
You gotta dance with him Nuri. Find out if he steps on your toes, or if he can lead. Or if he knows how to let the spotlight be on you.”

Ramadan is over. I finished my extra day so it’s my Eid
I try to be everything. I try. I go to church, I’m a successful, black executive in Hollywood. I tried so hard to be everything! While avoiding the one thing I really am. Don’t worry Keith. You’ll find the right girl.
I like Todd. Nuri, I’m gay. Karen is a lucky girl.
I’m talking about a lifetime together. You talkin’ about your job. I don’t care about your job, Nuri. Perhaps if you had a job you would understand.
Yeah, that’s me. The unemployed brotha who can’t get a job.
Angela!
