I need time to actually get exact dialogue for comparison but Remy Newell I realize is repeating his playbook and I…I’m not sure what to think of it from a story standpoint other than I hate it, we hate it and they hate it but making this set and looking at texts because of it just made me realize that

Yes! His playbook is essentially the same!! It’s part of what infuriates me!!

It’s tripping me out cause i wasn’t really thinking about it because i admittedly was not trying to hear him woo Nova but it’s legit the same. “You deserve someone..” vs ”Don’t let anyone steal your joy/you got people that want the best for you “(latter may be later?) Text: You got jokes vs Date: You got jokes. Sir

I need to go on a little Queen Sugar rant cause I am annoyed with people constantly making Darla the villain because she’s an recovering addict who made mistakes. She has own up to them and is trying to be a better person and people calling a “crackhead bitch” shows how they view addicts as less than and irredeemable.

A lot of the fandom, especially on other SM platforms, have always been so ugly towards Darla and it is sad because she has developed so much and put in the work for recovery and given (up until the paternity storyline imo) the unconventional treatment as a character who is a recovering addict so we can see her growth and struggle and root for her all at the same time

The song choices on Queen Sugar are incredible. Please Don’t Go x Milo Greene (isn’t released yet) was playing in the last few minutes and it was so fitting.

Micah and Charley sitting by the fire, burning Davis’ covers: “thought I was the last one that you loved. thought that what I gave would be enough. time is just a melody of fate. I was second hand in a second-hand exchange” (BARS!!).

Nova laying in bed, texting Remy “we can’t do this”: “please don’t tempt my heart again. weakness is a poor defense. please don’t… please don’t. please don’t tempt my heart again. a love like yours ain’t innocent. please don’t… please don’t. I can feel your eyes looking for another way to my body. temptation is the game we always play. the house will win, the rules were never changed.” Very fitting, the last three lines are VERY interesting.

i’m shocked that Blue had to choose between his parents…. i don’t understand where that came from, given last season. I guess i could understand after the first season when Ralph would yell at him for even mentioning his mom or wanting her at things, but last season they were getting along fine and he just wanted them together. This season, his relationship with Ralph hasn’t changed into something super negative or scary… i mean yeah he was acting out because he missed his mom being around, but i’m not sure how that translates into him choosing her home he just learned about today over the home he’s always known.

I felt like that was reaction. From a child’s specific pov. He’d just opened up to her about the other kid saying she left because she didn’t love him and admitting he we scared she wasn’t coming back so with him jumping to her defense in that moment I wasn’t surprised he said it. I don’t even think he meant for it to be as harsh as it was for us because we the audience felt the extra sting no doubt knowing the paternity truth laced in the statement but to me him knowing now there was another place “fun” for him to go with her gave him the open to say

good points, i can see that. now i’m wondering how awful RA’s spin-out from this is going to be and if/how we’ll see Blue change in the aftermath.

Bet that beer gonna stay stocked

really hope Nova doesn’t pull the “you said to give myself permission” when this all blows up in her face and Aunt Vi is judging her.

Now you know she will. That’s probably gonna be how Charley and everyone else finds out she knew something, even if not the someone, because Vi good for telling them not to keep secrets though she stay keeping hers lol…sigh

it’s going to be so unfair to Vi though because she didn’t know who it was. but i guess that’s good drama.

exactly how isolated are they about to make Charley feel and what is the plan?

Her further isolation is what worries me most. I do feel like they have some redemptive plans but like @youngerdrgrey said to me earlier. Will they work?

I read a tweet that said “I’m going to need everyone to realize that Remy fell for Charley’s potential. Remy is falling for who Nova is…..” OK AND???? Even if that’s true how does that lessen the pain for Charley? Regardless of what he fell for, SHE fell for who Remy is. Whether he truly liked/loved her or not SHE liked/loved him… and still does. SHE didn’t break up with him. I don’t gaf about how Remy and Nova feel. I don’t. At the end of the day they’re not the ones getting hurt in this situation and they’re not the ones being hurt week after week.

He fell for how he thought he could manipulate her to get what he wanted out of a woman is such a terrible way to present Remy as a man, but that’s exactly what they’re saying with “he fell for her potential”.

So terrible.
