I’m surprised no one is talking about how half this is Mara subtweeting about how she didn’t enjoy working on Martin back in the day
I did make a post on here one night but didn’t name names lol

It really depends on the link itself tbh. Not all of them post a cap with it and do turn out ugly and others don’t. I have no idea why this happens lol
I watched the first episode of Love Is and it was kinda cute, but I’m not wowed or anything yet. The music and cinematography is really good but the acting is average at best so far. And I’m also very ehh on another light skin mixed woman/dark skin male couple. I get that the story is based on Salim and Mara Brock Akil’s real life relationship but Mara ain’t really that light, she’s more Candice Patton or Yara.
I’m done wasting my time though, so if I don’t like it by episode 4, I’m dropping it. The past year I watched way too much TV I wasn’t actually enjoying
Oh also both the main characters are black Muslims so that’s cool and different
She did say in the interviews that the show has posted that she also
chose Michele (along with her spirit during addition) because during the casting process she realized she also
had to separate a bit and pick someone who didn’t look too much like
her. I do get folks feelings on this at the same time thoughYea I mean I don’t doubt that Mara found a connection with the actress but if she seperated herself from it anyways, it’d be nice to go against the norm. Especially considering that the other dark skin women in the show are the supportive best friend, bitter ex and a mom which is just typical for us at this point. At least they gave us Black Lightning lol
I’ve already watched episode 3 cause they have it up. Don’t know if they supposed to but it is and all I can say is that perception on Ruby from bitter may change. I added a link on another reblog where she talked about the casting if y’all wanted to hear for yourselves as well.
