#honestly infeel baited about this too if i’m being honest#i get that it’s not actually bait because they followed through with Chantal#what i feel baited about it Nova’s atteaction to women being a thing throughout the seasons#they’d rather out her with Charley’s ex that Charley clearly loved … a married white cop on a racist force… and coon…than a woman
I understand it, get it and share it and it’s so frustrating.
Also all of this
#well maybe Nova prefers men #queen sugar #agreed #before you say #can we at least get a good one? #male or female her relationship fails are getting old / going nowhere storywise / and hogging all her screen time #she still had a life and storylines that didn’t involve Chantal in S1 though #nova aint been right since kay left to write for this is us
The Charley of it all is whole ‘nother post.
For sure cause that will bring in anger, hurt, spitefulness and a whole mess of other shit
studgenius replied to your post: “A thought. Could Nova (and Remy, but especially Nova) be trying to…”:
The thought crossed my mind when they were getting ready to fish. Both looking for an anchor because they’re pressed and lonely and a connection to Ernest because they miss him and are doing a lot of work on his land and around his legacy lately. In that sense it makes sense; the chemistry just isn’t there.
Right. The romantic chemistry isn’t there at all. It’s steeped in loss and reconnection to Ernest and the past. Of what was more than to each other
A thought. Could Nova (and Remy, but especially Nova) be trying to reconcile her relationship with Ernest with this attempt at *romance* with Remy? As much as I loathe the scenes, I keep thinking about the fact that for as much as he claimed to see her all they ever talk about is Ernest and nostalgia and as random as this all is it falls right with her looking for that connection solely for her book because of her writer’s block.

I haven’t seen any of s3 yet, but reading your posts… what is going on with them? It seems like all the closeness and relationship building has imploded?
Feels like it and it might literally be doing that soon…lol, sigh
Rewatching…it took Nova 2 days to show up at Charley’s with an “ I heard” and not one Bordelon in between…
Davis broke the news to her on a Saturday
“I don’t need you right now, okay?”
whew.
I need time to actually get exact dialogue for comparison but Remy Newell I realize is repeating his playbook and I…I’m not sure what to think of it from a story standpoint other than I hate it, we hate it and they hate it but making this set and looking at texts because of it just made me realize that
Yes! His playbook is essentially the same!! It’s part of what infuriates me!!
It’s tripping me out cause i wasn’t really thinking about it because i admittedly was not trying to hear him woo Nova but it’s legit the same. “You deserve someone..” vs ”Don’t let anyone steal your joy/you got people that want the best for you “(latter may be later?) Text: You got jokes vs Date: You got jokes. Sir…
so many similarities. (in his defense, he does have that sort of energy with Rah too, to an extent, but yes.)
True but canon wise we know that energy with Rah is strictly platonic. I just
